Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education Highlights Performance in Best Practices in Accreditation Handbook
Boston, MA – Pri-Med Institute, the accrediting organization for Pri-Med Updates, Pri-Med Online, and Pri-Med in Print network of continuing medical education programs, has been cited in the new edition of ACCME’s Best Practices in Accreditation Handbook. The handbook highlights CME providers who develop and apply exemplary principles and methods in delivering educational programs to physicians and other healthcare professionals. Pri-Med Institute was recognized in the handbook for exceptional performance in three key areas: support by the parent organization, M|C Communications; needs assessment; and overall program evaluation.
Pri-Med Institute is the only accredited CME provider to be recognized in the handbook for the role of its parent organization in supporting the education mission. M|C Communications actively supports and promotes (via dedicated financial, facility and human resources), Pri-Med Institute’s business objective of continuous improvement in patient care and advancing patient health outcomes.
In developing educational programs that reflect current learning needs and priorities of physicians, Pri-Med Institute’s needs assessment process was cited as a model in employing multiple planning resources as well as post-conference evaluation by participants. For overall program evaluation, the ACCME also noted Pri-Med Institute's development of innovative and creative methodologies for measuring the effectiveness of educational activities and implementing continuous improvements.
“We are proud to be judged as having a significant role in contributing to ACCME's mission of promoting excellence in continuing medical education,” Marissa Seligman, PharmD Pri-Med Institute's Chief Regulatory and Compliance Officer said. “Recognition in the Best Practices in Accreditation Handbook is an important means of sharing what we learn with other CME providers.”
