Primarily act as a Team Leader and mentor, and must be able to participate in all roles of the Software Development cycle (Project Manager, QA, Trainer, Architect, End User Support, etc.). Team Projects will involve designing / implementing extensions as well as performing maintenance on our online systems, including refactoring of our existing code base to increase our agility and adaptability to the ever changing demands of the business.
In this position you may be required to operate in a hands-on development capacity while mentoring other members of the team. A critical part of the role will be enforcing good development practices, conducting regular code reviews, and ensuring quality throughout the software development process. You will effectively communicate risks and issues with project stakeholders, acting as a liaison between partners, vendors, clients and the technology team.
The ideal candidate is interested in leveraging senior software development skills and experience to directly impact business results in a complex environment, supporting multiple products and programs.
Skills Required:
• Master of complex, web-based, application development
• Master of C#, ASP.NET – development tools; best practices; and technologies
• Master of HTML, DHTML, CSS, AJAX, XSL and Web Services
• Deep understanding of best practice software design, including OO methodologies and SOA
• Master of relational database design and SQL programming (Microsoft SQL Server)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong business analysis, technical writing and database modeling skills
• Strong team, people, and relationship building skills
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to set clear objectives, and manage multiple priorities
• Customer-facing experience
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or equivalent
• 5-10+ Years of relevant professional experience
Experience desired:
• Knowledge and experience with design patterns and agile software development practices (unit testing, continuous integration, refactoring, etc.)
• Interwoven Teamsite and/or other Content Management Systems
• 2+ Years of Experience as a Technical Team lead and mentor
Duties:
• Analyze all foundational elements of the online platform and put together a long term strategy for refactoring the code base.
• Perform systems analysis, design, programming, systems integration, and testing of the online applications.
• Provide functional and technical expertise and guidance to peers and other teams.
• Create project plans, business requirements documents, technical specifications, test plans, and release guides.
• Troubleshoot complex technical problems, manage release process, resolve data problems.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems, including Load Balanced Web Servers with Net Scaler, Active / Passive SQL Servers, Clarion CX4 SANs, and Virtual Infrastructure.
