Accounts Payable Coordinator

M|C Communications is looking for an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our busy Finance team. As Accounts Payable Coordinator, you will process the company’s daily, full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP). You will process vendor invoices and initiate weekly check runs in accordance with M|C Communications’ policies and procedures. You will also maintain vendor relationships, serve as a key member of the Finance team, and work to support other departments within the company from a financial perspective. The AP Coordinator will also be expected to identify areas for automation in an effort to streamline the AP/purchasing cycle.

Responsibilities

-Set up vendors in the AP system and maintain vendor records using knowledge of reportable 1099 income

-Process invoices and check requests for payment via AP software (Solomon)

-Ensure accurate General Ledger coding

-Initiate and prepare weekly check runs

-Lead monthly AP ledger close

-Maintain accurate and current AP aging reports, records, and files

-Prepare monthly reconciliations for AP related accounts

-Maintain vendor relationships to resolve any discrepancies

-Be responsible for the annual processing of 1099s

-Perform general administrative duties (copying, filing, opening mail)

-Assist with annual abandoned property reporting

Requirements

-College degree or equivalent experience in field of Accounting

-Minimum 2-3 years experience in professional accounting or AP position

-Complete understanding of and experience with the AP and purchasing cycles

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills and problem solving abilities

-Detail oriented, deadline-driven and able to multi-task

-Professional & courteous demeanor and customer-service mindedness

-Ability to thrive in a high-volume and fast-paced team environment

-Knowledge of state sales tax regulations

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required; Solomon experience is preferred
