Account Manager - Pri-Med Access

Position Summary:

This individual’s primary role will be business development/sales for Pri-Med’s new direct-to-physician engagement opportunities. The Account Manager/Executive is expected to develop strategic client relationships, manage client accounts and grow financial support for the business line. Key responsibilities will include leading the overall account planning, account sales strategy, and retention activities to meet established financial targets by leading the business development efforts aimed at pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, imaging & diagnostic companies. Role requires proven ability to develop, maintain and grow business by working with various groups within pharmaceutical manufacturers including the brand marketing, sales management and customer marketing functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical sales and marketing

-In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical sales and marketing strategies, tactics and promotions processes, including benchmarks and best practices
-Knowledge of sales force effectiveness, professional marketing, and/or speaker training programs within pharma
-Broad familiarity with medical and competitive dynamics of major therapeutic areas
-Understands the changing business, scientific, and regulatory issues that our clients face
-Pharmaceutical industry experience and selling of integrated programs

Relationship building and management

-Ability to penetrate client – up to and including executive level – across all functions
-Highly effective interpersonal and relationship building skills, at all levels and in a professional manner
-Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
-Strategic ability to frame the big picture and show how recommended solutions meet client’s needs and contribute to achievement of client’s goals
-Expert in collaboration and providing solutions

Data-driven

-Subject matter expert including thorough knowledge of our business as well as the relevant competitive forces, regulations, alliances, and industry benchmarks
-Ability to source/ gather/ synthesize information from internal network/resources
-Ability to understand and communicate scientific data and information
-Capable of developing strong ROI scenarios for customers
-Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
-Sales skills/strategy
-Responsibility for achievement of revenue and growth targets for new product/solutions
-Strong ability to multi-task to succeed in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment
-Leverages a diagnostic sales strategy to uncover client specific issues/opportunities
-Collaborates with internal client teams to present proposals/close the sale
-Utilizes a strong consultative selling approach
-Track record of developing opportunities and closing business
-Must possess a strong sense of urgency and a desire to WIN


Ideal Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field; master’s preferred
-Proven experience in new-business development, achieving quota goals, and managing personal sales strategies
-Produce accurate and timely forecasts
-Experience in selling and closing large proposals
-At least 6 years experience in a solution selling environment
-At least 3 years experience in management/marketing consulting experience
-At least 5 years experience selling to or within big pharma
-Willingness to travel at least 60% of the time
