We are looking for an Account Executive to join our Education Products Sales Team. This individual’s primary role would be to develop, manage and grow financial support for Pri-Med’s educational products. The Account Executive is expected to lead the overall account planning, account sales strategy, business development and retention activities for specialty and primary care sales (i.e. pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, imaging & diagnostic companies). This person will be responsible for closing specialty-focused educational products (in Cardiology, Psychiatry, and Neurology) and would support sales activities for primary care physicians and other ancillary health care professionals. Account Executives are expected to prospect, cultivate, influence and support medical education decision makers at these accounts in order to identify areas of need where Pri-Med educational products may enhance attainment of their business goals. Account Executives are expected to understand disease and market trends that may impact their account’s educational interests and how Pri-Med’s knowledge of physicians, broad disease knowledge and learning gaps positively impact physician behavior and patient care. They are also expected to manage other third parties entities (i.e. medical education companies) that often play a part in procuring commercial support from accounts, as well as participate in the delivery of Pri-Med educational activities. Account Executives would lead other members of the organization’s team in the account planning, pitching, fulfillment and post activity reporting process. This position upholds the Company's policies and procedures, the Principles of Responsibility, accreditation standards, compliance standards, and applicable Federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Qualified candidates will have a BA/BS or equivalent and 5 plus years of medical communications and/or medical related sales or marketing experience required. Experience in medical education sales preferred but not required. Specific sales, marketing, or medical experience working within the pharmaceutical or biotech industries considered a plus. Strong science background (ie. post-graduate degree) is also considered a plus. Experience in preparing and delivering client proposals is essential. Knowledge of CRM software (i.e. SalesLogix, ACT, etc.) to maintain and develop client database is desired. S/he must have the ability to influence grant support process in adherence to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Commercial Support. It is imperative that the Account Executive have a proven track record in establishing, building and maintaining solid business relationships with internal and external stakeholders that drive business results. S/he must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Account Executive will have great attention to detail, salesmanship, a good command of the account planning process and an understanding of medical education principles. The computer skills required for this position are MS Office, specifically PowerPoint, and familiarity with the internet.
